Thad Flowers is a dedicated community leader and seasoned professional running for Atlanta City Council. He is driven by a deep commitment to improving the quality of life in our city. Born and raised in Atlanta, Thad’s roots run deep: from attending Pre-K at The Children’s School to his formative years at Sarah Smith Elementary and Sutton Middle, his early experiences have shaped his lasting connection to the community.

A proud Boy Scout with Buckhead-based Troop 8, Thad developed early leadership skills and an enduring sense of civic responsibility. He is known for his balanced leadership approach—grounded in thoughtful collaboration, fiscal responsibility, and practical solutions.

In 2019, Thad transitioned into public service, bringing his private-sector acumen to the City of Atlanta as District Chief of Staff to Atlanta City Council. In this senior advisory role, he managed daily operations and staff, coordinated legislative and policy initiatives, and acted as a key liaison between council members, constituents, city departments, and external organizations. Thad prioritized improving internal procedures and strategic planning to effectively address district needs. His tenure was marked by strong organizational management, responsive constituent services, and impactful community outreach.

Before entering public service, Thad established a solid foundation in business and leadership through a 15-year career in the automotive industry. He advanced from Internet Manager to Finance Director, Sales Manager, and ultimately General Sales Manager, overseeing all aspects of variable operations. Thad honed his skills in team leadership, sales strategy, and operational efficiency, consistently driving revenue growth, enhancing customer satisfaction, and mentoring staff.

Currently, Thad serves as a Senior Public Affairs Specialist, focusing on transportation and infrastructure projects essential to Atlanta’s growth and sustainability. He manages public outreach, government relations, and communications strategies for major transportation and construction initiatives. His professional experience offers him unparalleled insight into addressing the district's transportation, connectivity, and infrastructure challenges and opportunities.

Thad earned his Executive MBA from Georgia Tech’s Scheller College of Business, successfully completing the rigorous program while working full-time. He remains deeply engaged in the community through various organizations and is an alumnus of the New Leaders Council (NLC) Atlanta fellowship, which develops civic leaders. Rooted in Atlanta, Thad is also a lifelong member of both Saint Paul's Episcopal Church and Mount Paran Church, continuing a family tradition of faith and service.

Thad’s vision for District 7 emphasizes enhancing parks, paths, transportation and infrastructure to strengthen neighborhoods and improve livability. He advocates for proactive public safety measures and prioritizes effective fiscal management to ensure taxpayer dollars deliver maximum community benefit.

Thad Flowers’ unique blend of public-sector experience, business acumen, and deep-rooted connection to Atlanta, positions him as a balanced, effective leader capable of addressing the district’s most pressing issues.
